I have a 1993 Mariner 330 and I believe the neutral safety switch is bad on my port transmission (v-drive). Is there a way to access the transmission from inside of the salon to work on it. I was thinking I may be able to remove the stairs. Any ideas? I don't see how I can reach it from the engines deck access.

I got this from a other info site.

The rear cockpit deck comes out completely by removing 8-10 screws, the base legs of the ladder steps and disconnecting the scupper hoses-took me all of 30 mins. to accomplish. Once the deck is out, you have wonderful access

Thanks for the post. I may have to try that.
The transmission sits back under the bench seat at my dinette in the salon. The bench has a 3" access hole that really only allows you to check the fluids. I have a generator that sits in between my engines. That only allows you a couple of feet to work space for anything forward.
