Is anyone familiar with the 1990-91 72' Viking motor yachts? I know not to many were built due to the luxury tax at that time.I have looked at two of them ,beautiful layout and I love the teak interiors. I wonder if the quality is there and its sea worthiness? Most are Detroit power.

    Thanks,Greg

I've got a 1989 55' Viking motoryacht and am well pleased with quality and seamanship [she's a little tall which makes crosswinds a factor to be considered, but not unmanageable or unpleasant; I'd expect a 70' to not have same effect]. Detroits are big, noisy, and hot - but still running great [knock wood]. Would recommend a Viking motoryacht without question.

quality is there ovbiously. Personally i find the bow to be a little to short on these Vikings, obviuously because they expanded the house forward as much as possible resulting in a stubby look.

in all fariness, i'm clearly biased towards those Hargrave designed Hatteras with the longer bow and those sunpads ahead of the PH :)

I ran a 72' and it's a nice boat. Has a beautiful interior. They did a nice job and I like the ER over the split hatteras design, however the 70 Hatteras has a nice ER. They're built strong and pretty well designed with most things.
