I have located a 37' Roamer I may have interest to acquire where the seller has already converted the boat to diesel power. Picture is shown below. Reported as "210 HP Ford diesels". Don't know what these replaced, or why.

Can anyone advise what kind of "Ford diesels" these may be (Lehman? and how can you tell) and whether all other things being equal, this conversion by itself is something that should either seriously encourage interest in this boat or prohibit interest altogether? Boat has new aluminum fuel tank; hydraulic steering added as well. Interior needs a lot of work but is aluminum hull and fresh hull paint (Awlgrip?; not sure.)

    Thanks for any information.

Those are most likely Ford Lehman Super-225 engines. The put out 225HP @2450 RPM at the pleasure boat rating.

    Thanks and status

Laurence, Marmot, and Jim, thanks for the input. I have not purchased this boat, mostly because I have just purchased another one, same style aluminum 37 Riv but with the 427 FE Fords and moved it to Knoxville. But the idea of a diesel changeout already done with new gas tank and hydraulic steering and new hull paint is pretty attractive. He said he had splashed it to test the engines. Seller is a boat transporter and I believe he picked up the boat for free ["out of the weeds" somewhere he told me] because he knew what it was and had his equipment right there to take it away. Smart man. He is asking 10K (!) for the boat and will deliver for a fee. Rather than figure out how to own two Roamers and still be allowed to live at home, let me know if you have interest Laurence and I will send pics that the seller sent me and give contact info. I do not want to post his information on this forum withouth his knowledge; and he asks for phone calls only. His ad is still active however as of today.

    Two Roamers?

"Rather than figure out how to own two Roamers and still be allowed to live at home,"

Oh man, that's my problem too. I would take that on as a project but I already have a Roamer 38.

Can you PM me some more photos?

    Additional pics

Send me your email in a PM and I will forward pictures as you requested to that email address, that way I will not have to reduce 'em in size per the forum requirements.
