Delta Marine Yachts certainly has come a long way since My boat was built there in the 1980's. Always known for their quality workmanship and stout hulls, they ascended from expedition vessels like Thunder into the maga-yact domain we see today. Between the fishing boats and the expedition series, they built a few of these 28' offshore sport boats from a hull mold Steve Jones had purchased from Don Arnow at Magnum Marine. It is the same hull Arnow won the Miami to Bahamas race in. Delta added a gracefull four inches above the gunal and a deck flair to give the boat sitting headroom in the cabin. Powered by twin FWC'd Mercruiser TRS-300HP small blocks with Borg Warner transmissions, she does an easy 60 MPH weighing in at 8,000#. Three of these boats were built, and one was lost anchored off Maui in a storm.
