  1. Fincantieri completes 134-meter "Serene" superyacht

At 134-meters long, the MY "Serene", is one of the ten largest yachts ever built in the world and one of the finest in terms of sophistication and technology. Designed in accordance with the maximum class of international safety regulations for passenger transport the Serene has seven decks, a hangar and two helicopter landing pads.

The vessel also features a large sea-water swimming pool which can accommodate service craft and a submarine with a diving depth of up to 100-meters. There are 4,500 square meters of interior space including 2,700 square meters of super-luxury designed by Pascale Reymond from Reymond Langton Design.

Fincantieri Yachts team developed the project from the ground-breaking concept design of Espen Oeino, who created some of the world’s most famous yachts. The Serene marks Fincantieri’s entrance into an exclusive market sector, made possible thanks to the expertise the company has gained in the construction of sophisticated, highly innovative vessels combining cutting edge design and state of the art technology.

Fincantieri has devoted increasingly substantial resources to this market in order to offer customers ever higher levels of quality, design and style. Through Fincantieri Yachts and the construction of the Serene the company can now boast specific know-how on which it will be possible to draw for the next yachts it builds.

Commenting on the event Fincantieri’s CEO, Giuseppe Bono, said: “In setting out to diversify our activities to the maximum and be present in every business sector, we entered - for us - a totally new sector ready to learn and we have shown that we are able to satisfy the wish-list of even the most demanding customer, building the cutting edge yachts the market demands”. Mr Bono concluded: “We shall continue to spare no effort to maintain and increase the credibility we have gained in the field whilst at the same time further strengthening our role which the ‘yacht community’ has now recognized”.
