I have a 1988 Mason 54 cutter for sale. Original teak decks are nearing their life expectancy. Clients are getting bids from yards in NE and the bids are coming in around $90,000 for teak deck replacement.

Please provide opinions on NE vs Fl or mid -Atlantic for pricing a deck project.

Also, I'm hearing that replacing teak with non-skid is not an appropriate option. I've seen it done on numerous trawlers successfully. Does anyone have photos they can send on a sailboat whose teak decks have been replaced with nonskid?

    Thanks!

That doesn't sound too bad. Obviously, TDS is the best, but I've had good luck in MA with decking. I had a significant job done at DN Kelley.

Last I checked Teak Decking Systems was around $130 per square foot.
