  1. Second Day Of 2024 Monaco Yacht Show
More announcements continue to emerge from the ongoing 2024 edition of the Monaco Yacht Show (MYS). The Ferretti Group made an announcement regarding a future flagship for its Riva brand. They referred to a 70-meter hybrid superyacht that is currently in build and they also highlighted the current in-build flagship the 54 Metri. There is the existence of a 70-meter hull named Project 'Opal' being currently built. It is a collaboration between Ares Yachts and Mulder Design. An 82-meter concept called 'Nami' by the SaturaStudio was unveiled at the show. Sirena Yachts revealed their new 36-meter Sirena 118. Along with an announcement from Tankoa for the latest Fenice model.
  2. Riva once known for building highly-crafted small runabouts, tenders and small yachts over the years has significantly expanded its offering. Since going under the fold of the Ferretti Group the yard has been building much larger yachts and created a Superyacht division to separate large builds from their smaller yachts. The announcement of the 50 Metri was their flagship at the time and often was seen in some circles as uncharacteristically large for Riva. However, the yard isn't stopping at the 50-meter mark. They currently have the 54 Metri under construction and at this year's show they announced through the Ferretti Group, a 70-meter hybrid superyacht that is already under construction. No surprise that it is designed by Officina Italiana Design and will be launched in 2028. It is being built in steel and aluminium and as mentioned will have a hybrid system that permits zero-emission operation while at anchor or silent slow cruising and running the hotel-load of the yacht on its battery bank. No renderings have been available for the 70-meter. Below is a look at the new 54 Metri.
  3. The current flagship model, the 54 Metri is currently under construction and the first hull (which has been sold ) is expected to be completed 2025. The second and third hulls in the series are already underway in build as well with construction on them earmarked for 2026 and 2027 respectively. The 50 Metri went towards a standardized superyacht look and now the 54 Metri has altered this with further sportive aesthetics. Construction is in aluminium and the yacht will feature an 18-knot top speed. Large side folding wings open up to create a wide open-air beach club area with a glass-ended low-profile pool as its centerpiece.
  4. Project Opal a custom superyacht currently under construction with Ares Yachts is a collaboration with Mulder Design. The hull is being built on spec but can be delivered in a 36 month time-frame. The 70-meter superyacht is presenting a 1,400 GT internal volume thanks to its decent 13-meter overall beam. There is customization that can still be done to the superstructure and propulsion at this stage. Şahıṅ kaya Orhun, managing director at Ares Yachts said, "We estimate four months for finalizing the GA and the superstructure architecture, and 32 months to complete the build, which is an exceptional delivery time for a custom 70-metre project. It will be built to commercial specification and there is potential for various propulsion options, including Voith Linear Jets if performance in the mid-20-knot range is required, or hybrid and even full electric propulsion packages."
  5. The 'Nami' concept coming from the boards of SaturaStudio is the Italian designers 82-meter offering. Envisioned to sleep 12 guests in 7 cabins, ample accommodation space is on offer with the concept. The owner has significant space to themselves on the upper deck away from other guests featuring the suite itself, lounge and private deck. Construction is imagined to be in steel for the hull and aluminum for the superstructure with a top speed of 18-knots and an impressive range of 6,200 nautical miles.
  6. Sirena Yachts unveiled their 36-meter Sirena 118 at the show. The 36-meter will be made in composite materials (GRP). The exterior has been done in-house while the interiors are the work of Cor D. Rover. A 6-cabin layout has been devised with guest cabins on the lower deck and a VIP along with the owners suite on the main deck. Performance wise, a pair of MAN V12 3,100 horse power engines will get this vessel up to 16-knots although there is a 3,800 horse power package that is expected to help the yacht attain a 21-knot top end.
  7. Dynamiq released details concerning their new 52-meter flagship, the Grand Turismo Transatlantic 170 (GTT 170) series. The first hull was sold earlier this year and will be delivered in early 2027 cementing its place as the yard's new flagship. The yacht's slightly unconventional profile aesthetics come via Dobroserdov Design while the interiors is the work of Claudio Pironi & Partners, an Italian studio. With a 9-meter beam, 2-meter draft and 4 decks for guests to choose from along with an internal volume just below the 500 GT mark she is a favourable design to span both the Med and Caribbean for charter operations.
  8. There are 6 cabins for 12 guests with 5 located on the lower deck and the master suite on the main deck. The interior is highly timbered with deeply grained teak woods being utilized throughout. It is pair though with white surfaces with marble-like veining to give omni-directional movement to the eye. This is evident in the principal spaces. Blue hues also serve as great contrast to the main colour palette. In terms of performance the yacht is said to have an engine package that is 40% smaller than what would obtain normally on a regular 52-meter while maintaining similar performance characteristics. While a top speed has not been revealed the range is tapped to be in the 4,500 nautical mile region.
  9. Tankoa Yachts unveiled a new yacht at the show as well called the T520 Fenice and as the model name suggests the superyacht is 52-meters long. The yard already has the T680 Fenice -this was unveiled in 2022- so this one is a smaller sistership. Accommodation wise, the yacht has a massive abode for the owner that includes a full beam master suite that has terrace/balcony, study, lounge, full beam ensuite facilities and is akin to the space given to the same area on a 70-meter. 4 or 5 cabins are on the lower deck for guests. Team For Design is responsible for the yacht's design. With the T520 Fenice performance figures are expected to be 17-knot top speed with cruising around the 14-knot mark and a Trans-Atlantic range of 4,000 nautical miles.
