  1. Third Day Of 2024 Monaco Yacht Show
Further announcements, unveilings and revelations are still being made at this year's Monaco Yacht Show (MYS). Overmarine has taken the veil off their new 51-meter Oceano 52 model. Adeo Yacht Design showcased their 52-meter concept 'Ligeia'. More information released on the Riva 70-meter Hybrid. HydroTec unveiled a new 80-meter Concept called 'Valiant'. Phathom Studio has 72-meter concept Aetherius. Interior of "Galma" -the first WallyWind 110 revealed and more information on the 'Volare' design by Luiz de Basto.
  2. Overmarine has revealed the design for their new 51-meter Oceano 52 model. It is not just a new design but the first hull to be under construction. As may be expected, development of the new model is by Alberto Mancini and is being built in steel and aluminum to specification. Despite having the Oceano 50 in the lineup already Overmarine has gone ahead with the development of a slightly bigger model in the Oceano 52 and the yard stresses the 52 will not replace the Oceano 50, yet. Accommodation layout will be slightly different on the Oceano 52. The master suite will be moved to the upper deck while VIP suites are situated on the main deck forward. The yacht will sill be under the 500 GT mark too. The model still boasts the foredeck glass-edged jacuzzi but adds a sunken aft glass-edged dip pool in the swim platform.
  3. Adeo Yacht Design unveiled their Ligeia concept, a 52-meter superyacht. Fold down bulwarks on the aft hull expand the open beach area which is complemented by a small jacuzzi pool. Through sliding doors just aft of this jacuzzi is the indoor portion to the beach club which comes with a nemo area complete with large glazing to permit guests to see the underwater world from the comfort of being onboard. Accommodation is envisioned for 12 guests in 6 cabins. 52-meters is the LOA, 9.4-meter beam and 2.4-meter draft. A jacuzzi is located on the forward sundeck, fold down balcony is available for the master suite.
  4. Yesterday, we did not have a render for the Riva 70-meter Hybrid superyacht but a concealed render is available now that gives a mere glimpse into the exterior design. It showcases a long bow with sharp angle bow entry. Aggressive forward-raking bridge windows and an expansive sun deck area. Riva says the vessel is hybrid, under construction and will be completed in 2028 to an Officina Italiana Design. Besides running the hotel load on batteries and being able to anchor or slow cruise in 'silent mode', the vessel will have a sophisticated heat recovery system as well as Power Take Off/IN (PTO/PTI ) facility. "The Riva 70 Metri promises to set the bar for thrilling experiences in the years to come. She’s a superyacht of timeless beauty that will take the magnificent universe of Riva’s style features and detailing into a new dimension, combining it with cutting-edge navigation and environmental sustainability technology," said Ferretti Group CEO Alberto Galassi.
  5. Concept Valiant is the new design from HydroTec announced at the show. Although a concept, the interiors were well penned giving off 'Japandi' (fusion of Japanese and Scandinavian) styling. This concept takes the idea of unfolding beach clubs and supersized it. Normally there are two fold-down bulwarks that are positioned just outside of the beach space but HydroTec takes the folding platforms all the way forward to the internal beach club making for one truly massive space. The fun and relaxation for guests continues inside with generous spaces provided. The 80-meter superyacht creates intimate but large regions onboard thanks to careful planning by the designer. "The salon's expansive design fosters a sense of openness while maintaining an intimate, luxurious atmosphere for guests to enjoy during their time aboard", says HydroTec.
  6. Phathom Studio in collaboration with Wider Yachts revealed the Aetherius Concept as well. The ethos is premised on harmonizing interior and exterior. "Open-air spaces characterize many of the areas, designed for multifunctional use, inspired by adventure and connection with the surrounding environment", says Sean Bekeschus, Yacht Designer and Managing Partner at Phathom Studio. The beach club or as the designer calls it, the 'Club Beach' has a transom door that opens out to an angle to dip into the water. Finished with simulated sand it is to mimic the gentle entry into the water at a beach. Propulsion is envisaged as hybrid using Wider Yachts technology.
  7. "Galma" is the first WallyWind 110 and is at the MYS making her world debut. This is significant because she is the first semi-custom sail model to come from Wally since being acquired by the Ferretti Group. The second WallyWind 110 is under construction as well and will feature a few differences in customizations. "Ever since Wally came into the universe of Ferretti Group, it has carried on being Wally," said Alberto Galassi, Ferretti Group CEO. "With the wallywind110, we’ve managed to introduce something that is distinct: the boats are completely customizable staying true to Wally’s tradition, but with Ferretti Group industrial approach, so no two will ever look the same."
  8. The interior was done by Wally's in-house team led by Lucca Bassani. Light timbers, light and clean upholstery, carbon fiber detailing are the principal material choice. Accommodation is across four guest cabins. The master is full-beam and there are three crew cabins available. The social cockpit is huge spanning 80 square meters easily hosting up to 15 people at once. It is definitely are relaxing space with built-in seating, lounging space, sun pads and al-fresco dining.
  9. Oceanco has their Simply Custom series where they have numerous of the world's superyacht designers contributing their designs on top of an Oceanco technical platform. Volare is one of these designs, penned by Luiz de Basto. "On Volare, our challenge – and our triumph – lies in harmonizing beautiful design with precise engineering by Oceanco. Its superstructure seemingly floats above the hull, evoking the grace of a white heron skimming the water’s surface", comments De Basto. "This visual poetry is not merely decorative; like the heron, shaped by nature, Volare is engineered for extreme efficiency and functionality, without compromising," de Basto concludes.
