    Press Release of Romance

Here is the full Press Release for the launch of the 57M Romance.

    April 26,2008: CRN Shipyards:"CRN LAUNCHES THE 57-MT MEGA-YACHT "ROMANCE"
"Less than a month following the launching of its of its latest 43-metre maxi-yacht, CRN is enjoying another grand celebration. In a very private ceremony for the shipowner and his guests, the shipyard of the Ferretti Group has just launched “Romance”, an impressive 57-metre mega-yacht made of steel and aluminium.

CRN continues along its path of development and growth, with the launching of a 60m steel ship scheduled for late July, and the unveiling of the third 43m composite ship on the calendar for September. Confirming the major international success of the CNR shipyard is the production schedule for steel mega-yachts on order: filled through 2013, while composite-vessel production capacity is booked through 2011.

The stirring ceremony began with a heartfelt greeting from CRN President Lamberto Tacoli, who took the time to thank each of the staff members of the shipyard’s different departments, naming them one by one. “I want to thank the client company for having worked so closely with us in creating the ship – began President Tacoli – together with all the employees of the shipyard, at every level, who have worked for two years to arrive at the successful completion of this sophisticated project. They make for a strong, close-knit team: the heart and soul of our company”.

After the priest’s blessing and the traditional breaking of the bottle, the launch ceremony for “Romance” was topped off by the thrilling slide down the ramp. A touching moment, underlined by the notes of Giacomo Puccini’s celebrated aria “Turandot” and accompanied by rousing applause from the public.

The fully custom-made vessel, project number 122 for the shipyard, has a pool on its sundeck measuring 6 metres in length and 2.5 metres in width and equipped with an adjustable current mechanism that makes possible “treadmill” swimming.

The external lines were designed in a joint effort involving the CRN technical staff and the Zuccon International Project Firm, while the extremely sophisticated, complex interiors were arrived at through close give-and-take between the owner and the Design Department of the Ancona complex.

The regal atmosphere is the result of the variety of materials and decorative elements, all inspired exclusively by the magnificence of the Baroque style found throughout “Romance”: a genuine expression of the concept of unadulterated, awe-inspiring luxury.

Precious materials such as onyx, silk and gold are customised to create a stage-like effect of grandiosity and opulence. The complexity of the entire work is further reflected in the furniture, all of its custom-made: in true seventeenth-century fashion, the one-of-a-kind, aristocratic forms are rendered even more stunning by inlays, lacquered decorations and gold appliqués.

An unmatched feature is the fully operative wood stove found in the large panoramic lounge on the upper deck.

With “Romance” CRN takes the idea of onboard wellbeing to an even higher level. The ship has an area with a Turkish bath and aroma-therapy, a sauna made of scented fir, a massage room with a beauty shop and a fitness room: nothing less than a beauty farm on the sea, with exclusive design features throughout the ship.

A total of 12 guests and 10 crew members can be lodged on this mega-yacht, which is ready to set sail at a top speed of 15 knots and a cruising speed of 14."

It looks as though as the 60 M new build number hull CRN128 will be called Mama. If you take a look at her stern in the scrolling renderings you will see this name. This vessel will have an LOA of 59.50M, beam of 10.20M and a draught of 3.00 M.

A full load displacement is expected to be around 775 tonnes. 2 X CAT C9 175kW 380V 50Hz engines will be employed to produce an envisioned maximum speed of 15 knots with a cruising of 14 knots.

The range at 14 knots is an astounding 4,000 NM. Her Naval Architecture is derived by CRN Engineering department while the interior and exterior styling is by Zuccon International Project. Her classification is Lloyd's Register of Shipping.

This vessel will carry around 12 guests who will be serviced by 14 crew members. These 12 guests will be accommodated in 5 X double cabins and 1 X owner's suite.

CRN has updated a bit on the in-build 72-meter "Clarena II". There is a nice short 3D video clipping of her and what she will finally look like on the website. I am anxious to see this yacht launched!

    Clarena II

On the other hand, looks like CRN's largest build to date, the 72-meter "Clarena II" has been rolled out her shed according to pics I have seen on the yard's website. She has a nice light grey hull with a gold and black boot with black underwater hull. The superstructure is white.

Quite alot of work left to do though before her debut in Monaco. 19th of September was to be her launch date if I remember correctly.

    "Blue Eyes" pics

The folks at CRN uploaded a heap of exterior shots of the "Blue Eyes". Unfortunately no interior pics as yet it seems. She is a superb looking yacht!
