I was just looking at some photos from this summer & I thought I'd share a few. There were lots of yachts in town over the summer but having my camera handy proved to be my biggest issue. Here are the few that I did get. First is "Inevitable". It's a Westship but I don't know the length. He left our marina earlier today heading to FL
I can't remember the name of her but it was rumored that Leonardo DiCaprio was staying aboard while filming in town. The yacht was here most of the summer. Who knows the story on her? She looks like an older/refurbished yacht
This is the Swedeship Passion, built as Destiny in 1988. Used to be a very good looking Diana design with Disdale interior, but is now destroyed by other designers....
Chantal Ma Vie Definitely a one-off which is rumored to have been built by the owner (maybe previous owner). She has done lots of miles as I've seen here in many ports between Canada and South America over the past 12 years.
The 100' sailboat in the picture titled "Last Ones": This boat was first named Scheherazade II. She was built at Ankon Marine in Capetown, SA by a local businessman and sold as new to an American sailor who shipped her to FLL for outfitting and "Americanizing." She was at Turnberry, Fisher Island, and Waterways with cruising in the Bahamas; later the owner took her sailing through the Caribbean and Western Mexico and later sold her in San Diego. Historical trivia: The owner's wife had been playing with a design for an out-of-the-way dinghy lift and met up with T-N-T Dinghy Lifts who had just designed their first. Scheherazade II was the first vessel to use the now popular lift system. Judy JW Yachts
