Vitters shipyard complete 66-meter super-sloop "Aglaia" Dutch yard Vitters launched its most significant project about a month and a half ago. Since then the yacht has been completed in short time. She also has her final name, "Aglaia". The 66-meter super-sloop ranks in the largest of sail yachts in the world today. The design and naval architecture of Aglaia was penned by Dubois Naval Architects. On the other hand, the spacious interior was sketched and finalized by well known design firm, Redman Whiteley Dixon (RWD). Hull 3063 as she was known as in construction has a maximum draught of just under 30-feet. She stretches nearly 34-feet across at her widest point and is approximately 216-feet long or 66-meters. Two C-18 Catipillar engines power Aglaia. Each engine cranks out just over 700 horse power. They are fed by 50,000 LT capacity fuel tanks. Her mast is of epic proportions, reaching over 80-meters above the deck. She also features one of the largest composite rudders ever made. Aglaia has now left the yard to begin her endeavours.
