  1. Vitters completes 180-foot "Marie"

Dutch yacht builder Vitters are on the verge of wrapping up another successful build. The 180-foot long ketch "Marie" completed sea trials and has been christened already. She is the result of a wonderful collaboration that mirrored a previous design, in "Adele".

"She is a sister ship to the triple award-winning sailing yacht Adèle. Vitters Shipyard, Hoek Design and David Easton where chosen by the owner to create a 180' fabulously looking and sensational performance yacht." The hull has been created in Alustar and built to satisfy ABS and MCA requirements.

On the inside, Marie creates room for the accommodation of guests in two twin cabins and a double VIP type stateroom. There is also a Master Stateroom that has its' own deck house and cockpit. The contemporary woody interior styled and decorated by David Easton features Anigre crafted panels with traditional art pieces for accent as seen on the Vitters website.

Marie features a light weight rig according to Vitters. Built from carbon fiber, the Rig built by Southern Spars and finished in black, easily matches her beautiful black hull. The massive ketch rig is powerful allowing her to plow through the deep blue above 16 knots in a good wind.

The new Vitters Marie features a beam of 9.50-meters and a draught of 4.80-meters. A displacement in the region of 298 tonnes, the yacht holds just over 28,000 LT of fuel. This is fed to a CAT C32 engine to facilitate pure motoring or assisting the sails when the winds die off.

This gracefully designed double deckhouse ketch has classic lineage with modern touches. Strong but light weight carbon fiber ketch rig, light woody interior facilitates getting the most from her 180-foot frame when sailing. Marie certainly will turn heads where ever she goes and give her owner's pleasure.
