  1. Cleverly designed 55-foot 'Paperboat'

The Paper Boat concept is one that comes from a familiar site and pasttime for many children and even adults alike. The childhood memories of making paper boats and sail them on any area with a stream of water deep enough to host it could become a reality in yachting design. The Artax Studio has designed a concept for a 55-foot yacht that is based on the same paper boat.

The yacht literally looks like the paper version and hence is called 'Paper Boat'. The center of the boat features a glass structure in a pyramidal shape. Inside this structure, the social activities of the yacht is staged. There is a kitchen island in the center of the pyramid which houses sink, prep and cook area. Bar-styled seats line one side of the island, allowing an intimate experience for guests while a meal is prepared.

Three corners of the glass house are fitted with elegant seating. Below deck on either the bow and the stern, there is accommodation, two cabins. Back up on the main area, the glass house will not be a green house experience. The structure can open up on both sides, allowing air in and providing a further connection to the sea.

Even the bulwarks on the hull can be lowered to the waterline to provide even more space and a platform to enjoy and interact with the water. Retractable ladders integrated into the bulwark system aid that interaction with the water. The Artax Studio have drawn up a concept to a familiar design, that is the paper boat construction. If ever built, it will certainly be an intersting vessel.
