There are several media reports that Cannes scheduled for Sept 8-13 will now be cancelled due to the Corona situation.

Certainly would have expected such. Confirmed by several sources although not on the Festival's website.

It was being held out that the Cannes Yachting Festival for 2020 would still go ahead despite the worldwide condition relating to Covid-19. News is that the promoters and organizers have now cancelled the show for this year citing a new surge of Covid-19 cases. With restrictions and rules becoming further tightened especially after the French Government clamped down on gatherings above 5,000 persons earlier in the week, the possibility of a show this year became very unlikely. With the show expected to start in early September it was really down to the wire to make a decision on whether to go ahead or cancel. Appears mainly the French Government made that decision for them.

It was On/Off/On/Off-ish for ages. Sadly here in Europe, Countries are now going through their 2nd wave of CV-19 and lock-downs on a weekly basis.

Some days we get 1 infection in every 500,000, the next 2 or 12. Who can guess? My island of Guernsey has been CV free for 130 days, lets keep it that way.
