Boat for Sale "List"

    Is anyone aware of an easy to navigate "Boat/Yacht/Vessel for Sale" website?

    Yachtworld just went throught a re-design, which is (IMO) awful. What was once easy to search now results in a mess of available boats. I was looking for a Mirage Great Harbor, and it listed 18 ft, followed by 54 ft, of ranging years, etc. (including Egg Harbor). It now confuses similar named sellers (search American Tug and you'll find Nordic Tug). As you can see, we're looking for Trawler style vessel.:eek:

    So, basically, the website I used is 'evolving' and I'd like to ask the board for suggestions on a boat list for vessels 35 ' and greater.

    I do check yachtforums (which has adopted KISS).. but trawler syle vessels are limited.

    My KISS is Google...:) Found a Mirage 37 in Honolulu...

    That was the Mirage Great Harbor with extra fuel tank that went over on her own bottom.

    Congratulations. Are you using it in the islands?

    Interesting that you mention google. I emailed the developers of the website noted above that readers prefer clean, google-style searches instead of "blue and brown", "buy this", "rent this", but that's the route they have taken.

    I read the thread where this forum has over 10,000 users... and it's clear why. Simple, clean design.

    If someone knows of a "boat list" type of website, let me know.

    If you search for "Carver", and 20 come up, do you really need thumbnail images of 20 white Carvers beside the boat info? Just a simple list - Year, make, model, price.

    Sorry I wasn´t clear, I found it now by using Google. Most sites with boats for sale are indexed by Google and other search tools and will soon show up if you type in the right search words. I use to connect them like "Mirage-great-harbour" to get a more spot on hit, if I am looking for a brand name/model. Or I add "yacht" or "boat" after the search name.

    I wondered what a Swedish resident would do with a boat in Hawaii...

    but with air travel, etc., thought "why not"?

    I normally use the professional version of Yachtworld but went to the "civilian" site to see the new changes, and can see how you might get frustrated. Make sure that you go to ADVANCED SEARCH so that you can narrow your choices.

    Have you tried yachtcouncil.com? There are 2 Mirage trawlers, a 37 and 46.

    And I agree about the Yachtworld overhaul. Tucker is right, use the Advanced Search to avoid unwanted dribble.

    I've heard of many complaints about the YachtWorld changes but some clients have told me that after speaking with YW, they were given some "helpful hints" that subsequently made the changes more positive.There are 3 primary websites used by brokers (and clients) as multiple listing type of services, each with its own pros and cons. YachtWorld tends to have the greatest number of listings because their rules are looser and supervision and regulation is less inforced.

    In addition to doing your own search, you might consider enlisting the help of a broker who specializes in trawlers. Any of the brokers that have responded to your query are qualified reputable brokers and happen to have extensive trawler experience.

    BTW, Mirage makes 2 styles of trawlers; the one in Hawaii is the N37. This vessel did not have additional integral fuel tanks, but had "bladder" tanks on her swim platform for the trip.

    Thanks. Heading down to Florida in March, and will contact a broker from this forum.

    In the meantime, could you provide name of other 2 websites (primarily interested in trawler).

    There are a few sites that have an emphasis on trawlers, and might have some For Sale By Owner boats that you may not find elsewhere.

    The 2 general yacht search websites other than YachtWorld to which I was referring are Bucnet.com and YachtCouncil.com
