Blohm+Voss Savarona 124.4m built 1931 Blohm+Voss Savarona 124.4m built 1931 The Savarona is the first of several large yachts built by Blohm + Voss. Her elegant lines and the luxurious interior - unparalleled in those days - have drawn much attention all over the world when she was handed over to the American owner in 1931. The speed of 21 kn was very high in those days. Later, she was in use as Turkish state yacht (bought by Kemal Atatürk). Thoroughly overhauled she still crosses the Seven Seas as a charter yacht. Although more than 70 years old, the Savarona is still in service. Information and picture taken from http://www.blohmvoss.com/
