The Katalina is the first yacht constructed by Blohm + Voss since the 1930s when the legendary Savarona was built. Designed by British architects to the special requirements of the owner's family, the luxurious owner's rooms arranged on the forward and upper decks ensure privacy even when a lot of guests are on board. Special emphasis has been put on the reduction of vibration and noise, a basic requirement for an exclusive atmosphere on board. The large number of water sports equipment including a glider with a speed of up to 60 kn and various surf boards are an unusual feature. Especially worth to be mentioned is the well-equipped divers' chamber with direct access to a platform. With the two 12-cylinder KHD 628 diesel engines driving two fixed pitch propellers via two reduction gearboxes a speed of 18 kn can be reached. Characteristics: Length overall: 65.2 m Breadth: 10.8 m Draught: 3.6 m Speed: 18 kn Year of construction 1987 Information taken from http://www.blohmvoss.com/
