When I check my bulge openings there are a lot in some place I collect a little water because it doesn't trigger the pump ,I know it is from the ax or the drip from the shafts ,but how water should be in there if any, sometimes I have a black soot in the water what is that I know nobody has popped so it can't from holding tanks

1st determine if you're dealing with fresh or salt. That will narrow down the source. It could come in through the shaft log, engine room vents, deck hatches, rain, boat washes, coolant overflow, etc. Water in the bilge is not uncommon, but should be cleaned up. Also the black soot could have different causes. My best guess is mold/mildew, maybe some oil. Not much to worry about but you really want to keep it clean. Mold/mildew you don't need and if you keep the bilge clean you'll know in a second where any leaks are coming from.
