    I'm purchasing my first Bertram. It's a 1981 Convertible with twin VT903's. Does anyone have any info on these or any original specs on the boat?

    It has been about ten years since I was on a sportie with 903's and parts were getting expensive and a little harder to come by in the southeastern US not sure about your neck of the woods. I would talk to your mechanic about parts availability. As far as the 38 hull I fished a couple tournements on one and it was a good hull.

    I have a 1974 38 sportfisherman which I am now repowering with Volvo Penta IPS 600. I took out 2 perfectly good running Caterpiller 3208 435 hp engines and all the running gear,including custom exhaust mufflers and engine beds.
    It is a great running hull or I wouldn't wast my time with her. Originally she had V-903m s installed. I went from 18kts with the 903s to 28 with the Cats.

    Should be in the water in about 3 weeks, Several boating magazines are doing articles on her and the project. Watch for them
