I am the new owner of a 1975 28 and am getting it ready for winter storage and cannot find the water tank? There is no deck fill and I have searched all over. There is a toliet and two sinks. I see the intake for the toliet and the holding tank but no fresh water tank? Could there not be one? There is no shower on this boat and it has always been a great lakes boat?
The good news is that you wont have to look for long! There just are not many places to put the water tank on a Bertram 28 ... mine is approx 25 gallons and located in the bilge as you step into the cabin. There is also some room in the forward bilge (under the v-birth). There is also some room in the engine bays ... my black water tank is on the port side of the engine bay. I removed the ridiculous shower from the head on my B28 but it still has fresh water for the sink in the head, galley and even a small hot water heater. Many of these boats are enjoyed for their fishing capability with very few amenities. If you are going to add a fresh water tank, the location (bilge first step into cabin) is a good location. Mike
