Looking at a used Belize 54 daybridge. Any comments on this brand or model would be appreciated. Boat has Volvo IPS. Thanks. Sailor Fred

I do not own one but I've read a number of very positive comments about Riviera boats that are made by the same company. Two friends who have owned boats with Volvo IPS units have had good experiences -- no problems, and the units seem to be very efficient.

I see Belize 54's going by my place in Stuart FL often because the company keeps demonstrators and inventory models here. The 54 looks good running in the mid teens or a little faster -- it runs quite level and seems to raise little fuss through the water.

From quick walk-throughs at boat shows the Belize boats look well finished and laid out sensibly. I think the command/helm station on the Belize 66 sedan model is spectacular -- one of the best I've ever seen.

I have done sea trials for magazine stories on the Belize and Riviera brands and like the boats. I feel they are safe and well built. Here is a review I wrote on the Belize 54 for Lakeland Boating magazine in 2014. Hope it helps (and the moderators allow the link). Good luck!
