Looking at a used Belize 54 daybridge. Any comments on this brand or model would be appreciated. Boat has Volvo IPS. Thanks. Sailor Fred
Absolute gorgeous well made and done boat..was on it at the fll boat show..out of my price range and dont want a boat with pods in Caribbean..
I do not own one but I've read a number of very positive comments about Riviera boats that are made by the same company. Two friends who have owned boats with Volvo IPS units have had good experiences -- no problems, and the units seem to be very efficient. I see Belize 54's going by my place in Stuart FL often because the company keeps demonstrators and inventory models here. The 54 looks good running in the mid teens or a little faster -- it runs quite level and seems to raise little fuss through the water. From quick walk-throughs at boat shows the Belize boats look well finished and laid out sensibly. I think the command/helm station on the Belize 66 sedan model is spectacular -- one of the best I've ever seen.
I have done sea trials for magazine stories on the Belize and Riviera brands and like the boats. I feel they are safe and well built. Here is a review I wrote on the Belize 54 for Lakeland Boating magazine in 2014. Hope it helps (and the moderators allow the link). Good luck! https://www.rivieraaustralia.com/app/uploads/BT_Riviera_OCT14.pdf
