33kw genset is only getting 10v at gauge and won’t turn over. Battery reads 13v. Redid connections. Could it be the switch? Do these go bad in that way?

We had to replace our generator battery switch... on our previous boat, after 17 years... after serious troubleshooting why the thing wouldn't start. I never even thought to try jumping through the switch...

Anyway, yes... apparently rotary switches can go bad. Or maybe just become corroded. You could check various way to decide whether to clean or replace...

I had one go bad when it had become off regardless of switch position. I found testing batteries under load was the only really accurate test. Sometimes they may have voltage yet lack amperage capacity.

It could. Or corrosion or loose cable somewhere along the way. Check the starter terminal
