Ditto. You'd think that with all those crossing they'd have some serious repair experience, but I guess it's possible that they just lucked their way across. I'm reminded of a guy I met on the radio who'd come around Hatteras in a 23' sailboat with only a compass, a gal. of gas and almost no experience beyond day sailing in the bay. With a storm approaching he didn't have a clue of where he was. Regardless though, in that time my Leatherman alone would have gotten that rudder off. It sounded like they were fine with going in circles for days in the middle of the Atlantic.
