This may be a dumb questions in that it has many answers depending on the vessel, but how long (maybe on average) would it take for an Atlantic crossing? IE. Miami to Spain. I am very new to this and travel a lot to Europe and don't prefer flying. If it doesn't take very long, this may be a viable option for me since I had been planning on buying a poweryacht anyway.

    TIA

    Hello there,

Say your Going to Cartagena, Spain from Miami, it would take approximately 14 days @ 12 knots in ideal sea conditions... But then again, you can arrive there faster/slower, depends on speed, weather, seas, etc...

Here's a link to World Ports Distances Calculator, you can always fiddle around with it, to whatever ports you want to depart/arrive at...;)

    Hi

From Fort Lauderdale to Palma de Mallorca you are looking at an avarge of about 16 days @ 12 Knots weather pending and speed. Just out of interest what size yacht are you looking at buying.

    Thanks for the Website V65.

If you are traveling a lot as you say, a private yacht is not the ticket. You can not go all year around but have to follow different weather seasons, if you are not talking giga-yachts. There are few cruise-liners these days, but if you catch Queen Elizabeth II she will do Southampton - New York in six days.

I love flying, but not with the airliners, so if I could have a private jet, I would travel a lot more than I do...:)
