Anyone seen the so-called Gigayacht? It isn't supposed to be finished until 2011 and there's a picture of it on ( Link Removed by Admin ) but I'm wondering if anyone has seen it under construction for real. The price tag just seems awfully high. I'd be curious about its interior.
    Thanks.

    Hi,

Smoke and Mirrors springs to mind when reading about this thing.

The Boat Trader site shows it for 350 Million Euros and then for $99,999,999.00 in the same article so.

Is there anywhere in Florida large enough to build this under cover in a dock?

Amen! Better things to discuss around here then a far-fetched rendering used for publicity purposes. Can we lock this thread now?

That looks pretty far fetched and wouldn't believe it unless it was built and floating.

Are you saying that this boat is a hoax by the brokers? Why would they do that?

    No, I didn't say it's a hoax, I said I don't believe it.
The website has some other good info for wealthy folks to save some money. But the Gigayacht page doesn't say anything about saving money. Also, it will have 17 luxury apartments, so is it a yacht or a cruise ship? And is it practical for one person to own a yacht of this size? Talk to Larry and Paul and see what headaches they have getting their yachts into harbors and warfs.

BTW, I was just in Newport Beach. Nice town, enjoyed a tour of the harbor towards the inlet. Saw John Wayne's yacht. Dinner was good at The Cannery.

Carl- It's your server space and your bandwidth being used by thisas well as my inbox when someone replies so please feel free to lock it, dock it ( no pun intended) or whatever you feel like doing with it on a Saturday morning.

    I will not be offended.

New term! From now on... we "dock it".

It's not the bandwidth that concerns me. It's a link to website that is obviously set up as a Google-Ad cash generator, offering no informational value. It's this kind of garbage that's cluttering the net.

    Thread docked.
