    Happy New Year first!!!!
I have to head to Daytona from west palm tomorrow and was going to go in the Cape but have heard there is enough water for safe passage for a 6' draft 75' to enter safely. Any recent knowledge? thanks

Wow, That's one of those inlets mostly for locals. Calm seas, good day light and high tide. Come in from off shore. Keep the jetty to the north about 25 yards. Look quick for the temp (Small) buoys before the west bar before the west end of the rocks turning south. Find them and turn port, on this south lane is where it gets skinny. When you see the next beach to port all is well. There is an anchorage another 1/2 mile south from there and it's tricky getting into it also.
Do NOT try to cross the spoil areas to find the ditch. Continue south, Clear the Coast Guard station on port and pick up the ICW south of there, dog leg to stb, north west.

Tap On CSkipR for extra local knowledge.

We come in on calm nights, I don't pop a top till the hook is down in this area.
St.Augustine will also grow hair on your parts if your not familiar with it.

On my runs from Lake Worth to Jax, we stooped at Cape Marine. Easy in / out.
If your trip ends at Daytona, This is the way weather and daylight permitting.

YOU NEED DAYLIGHT if you have never been in here before.

I now have first hand knowledge :D The inlet itself is deep, 15' minimum. Its where you turn south to get back on the icw it gets a little skinny. I came in at low tide (following a local 85') and had about 6.5 feet. I wouldn't do it on my own without high tide though, and certainly not in any strong conditions especially out of the south.
