Could anyone recommend a 33-37 foot boat with upper and lower helm, 2 staterooms and open deck built after 2000 up to $150K? Something similar to Silverton 34 Convertible for Westbrook CT waters? I am a newbie with 1998 Sea Ray 310 Sundancer, ready to upgrade but heard of a pendulum effect concern. Having lower helm on flybridge boat will probably make me feel a bit better, unless I am overthinking it lol

You're overthinking it. At that size range, nowadays, you really wont find anything to fit what you are looking for. Really the only boat that ticks off the box of upper and lower helm would be the Ocean 37 Billfish, but the price is out of your reach. The lower station just takes up too much room in this size category for most builders to look at it. If you're dead set on that arrangement, look at older boats from the 70's or 80s ( classic Merritt/Rybovich Dayboat layouts). The 2 staterooms is a big ask when combining the two, however.

The only time the pendulum effect is going to give you a hard time is when you are drifting in open seas (fishing). When running in most seas under 3-4', you aren't going to have an issue.

Mid 1990 - 2000 Riviera. Some have lower helm. Some don’t. That’s gonna be about it in that year/size/price. Probably not many of them where you’re at.

Bayliner 3488 - two stateroom - duel helm some with diesel. unsure of quality of the more recent versions of these boats, but a few friends of my dad had the 3288 one had gas/one had Hino diesels and they loved them.

    Some Europeans
    - Princess 38 (produced till 02 if I remember well). This was a hard seller cause it cost as much as the Princess 40 which had a two bathroom layout.
Princess also made a 34 for a couple years (early 2000s) I think stern drives only Volvo 230hp Kad engines, which I would not say it is an ideal set up.
    - Fairline Phantom 38. IMO you can also look at the Squadron 40.
Both Princess and Fairline are usually fitted with Volvo T63 370hp
    - Azimut 39 (produced till 08), and the 38 which became a 40 just after launched in 09 and produced till 2012. Catts 355 for the first and Cummins 380hp for the second.
    - Cranchi 40 Attlantque, a sound boat which does everything well and does not excel in anything tbh. Original born as 38 and was renamed as 40 in 1999 with the addition of an extended bathing platform.

    Not Mainstream Brands
These would be the main stream Euro brands. You can find some other interesting boats from Intermare a small production builder from Italy which was based in Tuscany (they use to subcontract for Azimut in the eighties up to the early nineties) and Cayman Yachts also had a nice 38.

All Euros had upper and lower helm. I delivered an Intermare 35 (really nice boat in Dec 2020) and have only good things to say about her.
