Hi, I was just sent this by someone who knows it was taken in Langkawi but not much else. Anyone know more?
Talk about falling into disrepair , that boat can't be on offer for Charter under closer inspection you can clear see a washing line with clothes on it .. lol From the visuals alone i don't think that yacht sank it just be neglected over a period of time and i've seen the same kind of neglected state on boat's in Balloch , Loch Lomond years back and with it being the same advertised on the link posted by Shazam It's a classic scam holiday .. where you the consumer has little or no chance of ever getting your money back With the website stating available in Phuket .. she's a long way from Thaland if she's tied up in Malaysia """Indulge yourself on our Luxury Charters OUR MEGA YACHT : The search has finally come to an end. The one and only true Megayacht readily available for charter in Phuket, Thailand is now here with the Liquid Dreams / Kingfisher Fleet. With luxury, quality, and service that has yet to be seen in Thailand, Phayoon 3 is the pinnacle of Mega yacht chartering in Phuket.""""
I'm not at all surprised. The site mentions that Kingfisher Marine is involved in the set-up. Kingfisher used to represent Horizon and Mustang in SE Asia. After selling me a Mustang (who subsequently went bankrupt), the chap running Kingfisher had some personal problems and effectively disappeared. Stopped responding to calls, texts or emails. Company no longer exists either. So I was left nicely high and dry with a list of defects and no-one to kick. From what I understand, his ex-wife now has the Horizon dealership in partnership with H, and is doing quite well with it. Overall, a useless bunch of willies. Looks like that boat sank all on its own, for no reason at all, just like that Puf
I especially like what appears to be a rail tied up with seaweed and the high-tech boarding system (rickety board). One can only imagine what the interior looks like.
Those barrels floating the stern are a big hint that she sank, as well as the water staining all the way up to the bridge. From what's been said here I'd imagine the insurance company has more than a few questions about the sinking, but I think everyone is referring to a different scam, one that was operating while she was still floating.
NYCAP123, Gotcha. Thanks for the clarification. I thought the thread was suggesting that she was alway a tub, and the advertising literature suggesting she is a gracious yacht was the scam.
Would you say deilberate for insurance reasons ?? Anyone else - There has to some article printed in the local Malaysian press consider the location of where she is at present . Did the vessel sink at sea which i doubt very much , or did she succumb to water whilst tied up .. if she did sink out at sea what was her position , how many on board , who had the salvage rights and it's not cheap ethier and i suspect the depth of the water would have made it impossible which leave the only other option of it succumbing to water close to shore or tied up in port ...
I just pullrd this note off the web, but can't get to the story. Found it: Luxury yacht grounded after taking on water Thursday, December 1, 2005 PHUKET: The luxury charter yacht Phayoon 3 was grounded off the southern coast of Phuket early this morning after the vessel began taking on water in heavy seas.
Grounded of the coast of Phuket in 2005. What is she doing in Malaysia then and how did she get there?
Once a boat gets into that kind of shape it makes very little news. For more info you may have to make a personal visit and ask the resident. Looks like today it's more a topic of whether to permit livaboards in a marina. No telling what they'll bring in once the contract is signed.
certainly looks it ... what with 6 blue buoyancy drums attached astern on the port side ... and who knows what else below the waterline ...
Actually it is alongside at Ao Por Grand Marina in Phuket. It did actually sink for a second time just recently but it sank alongside the dock in a fairly big northerly blow that sends big swell into the marina! The first time it sank in 2005 on the west coast of Phuket but I don't think the insurance ever paid for anything more than the salvage. The hull was repaired and then it has sat in Yacht Haven or Ao Por Marinas ever since. The first time it went down an unsecured hatch on the lower aft deck let water come into the stern in big waves. It probably did not make the press this time as it did not surprise anyone at all this time.
