I recalled a discussion in these forums a couple of years back on the chaotic refit of the yacht Anodyne.
For those new to the forums, Anodyne began life as Boundless in 2008 and was built by Brazilian yard Inace. It was 98 feet long, garnered several positive reviews and won an award or two.
In 2014 it was bought by an American who announced that it was in 'bad shape' but would be refitted to the best standards at American yards in Florida including being extended to 110 feet. It was renamed Anodyne. Whether the 'bad shape' was the result of poor construction or lack of maintenance or both was unclear.
A budget of 15 million was announced which raised eyebrows as this was significantly more that a new 110 foot construction by the best yards in 2014 would cost.
The work dragged on and the budget expanded to 20 million then 25 million and finally, in 2016/7 to an eye watering 30 million. and it still wasn't even nearly finished. There were claims that more than 30 million had actually been shelled out. Real dollars. This was now about what two top quality 110 foot yachts would cost as new builds.
Unsurprisingly, work ground to a halt, fingers pointed and lawyers got to work. It started civilly enough with claims and counter claims about who owed who what but soon turned nasty with accusations of bribery, fraud and theft.
Then, in 2020 - poof - nothing. Nada. Silence.
So does anybody know what's going on?
My interest is pure idle curiosity so if this is dangerous or taboo ground please tell me and I will tiptoe quietly away.
    Thanks.

I once shared an intimate lunch table with the owner/financier of Anodyne. He proudly told me that his team was executing the project at a much higher level than any flag-state or classification society would dictate them to do so.
I've heard plenty of rumors since that time.
