I have not been on my flybridge in many years, except to clean or fix something.
    Next boat, Scratch flybridge.

I operate our boat from the lower helm but no back bulkhead, enclosure or curtain.
Next boat, Enclosed helm with air conditioning (cool & heat).

Have not had guest lately, nor want guest overnight on board.
    Next boat, Less bunks.

Tired of crawling up/down our tall transom pulling up Josie's fish or tending to our tow.
Next boat, Cockpit or lower aft deck.

    Tired of going slow.
Next boat, Can turn some speed and cruise there.

Tired of the main engine noise.
Next boat, Outboards or at least mains further aft.

    Range.
    Next boat, Floating fuel tank.

    Nice galley.
    Next boat, Floating restaurant.

    Big bed.
    Next boat, Big bed.

    Nice ride.
Next boat, Very fat & deep V forward.

    No more head banging.
    Next boat, Head room.

I have never witnessed a cockpit crew boat or cockpit MLB.

I found this from the left coast. Has some merit.
    00D0D_5YkeYgXQSLx_0iA0e2_600x450.jpg

Parker never made their extended 3x / deep V.
    Could not afford one anyway.

Still have yet to win the lottery.

Josie may let me sell our Bertram this coming fall. I need an idea what to shop for.

    Anybody understand my needs (dreams)?
    Ideas?

She agrees on most. Just tells me to stop dreaming about a nonexistent boat.
I'm starting to re-think about an ole crew boat with a cockpit welded on.
No where above did I mention it had to look good.

    Thx Chris for your thought

    Spending OPM, yessir!

I am a bit concerned about outboards with a decent galley. Not seen that lately.

Yes, This is going to be an issue.
Last year we were blessed with a near new Modern Maid stove/oven replacement.
Ours was looking pretty sad till a great new friend sent his take-out down from a TVA Hatterass.
Josie has been cooking full sized turkeys in this ole monster oven for 20 years and I was getting rather concerned till its exact replacement came in.
New stove top and oven are working great. Better than the real new junk in our new hose.
I have not ruled out keeping this stove top/oven and installing new burners in the Bertie when we sell her.

That crew boat idea is looking better every hour.

Real stove top and real oven will be a real concern.

Thank you for your concern my friend

UPDATE, I was just reading this to Josie, She just commented small boat, small cooking (small turkeys),,,,
NOT.. I repeated my thought in keeping the old oven..
There was this eye rolling backwards issue that I can not type correctly or explain in this thread.
I'll get back to this subject.
Mind you, there will be a large galley on the next boat.
A happy captain makes all good.

This could work. Please notice the all weather helm and that great low transom.
Ease to access the water and tow should be great back there.

Twin 20mm cannons forward; makes clearing the gators, manatees, zombies and protesters a lil easier also.

I'm still young,,, Just captured in a high mileage and abused body.
But brother I do understand what your saying.

That is why I'm thinking of letting da Bert go. Before I can not stay up with the maintenance.
Looking for the above with less maintenance. Is there such a hull??

This has also been my search for many years: Nice big boat with many systems but minimum
    Maintenance.

These days I keep a small boat inside a building rated for Category 4 hurricanes and
have strangers do the required service while I sit in the shade supervising the work clutching
    a cold beer.
The only modification I did was to add straps to the bimini top structure, see clip from yesterday’s
cruise from Palm Coast to Daytona and back:
(Flimsy bimini from the factory, this mod is good for up to 39.4 knots)

Nah, 39.4 knots is the max velocity of my tub, measured with 50 gallons of fuel and one occupant.
The bimini was rattling, shaking and noisy before the strap modifications, better now.
And that project is (was) the only modification I want to do, don’t want to modify, repair, upgrade or screw with boats ever again.
Maybe I should charter in the future, maybe you should too?

I would never have a boat without a galley that allows for full on cooking. Mind, I am not the cook, I chop and clean. Oh, and enjoy the meals my wifey whips up. I find that the meals on board are vital to our boating experiences.

I'll let you know if i have any ideas that cross my path. Your list is a nice challenge!

Most outboard powered hulls are essentially day boats. Even the Gucci priced ones don’t have much of a galley - or staterooms. Besides, it’s difficult to cook when you’re holding on with both hands.

I've never heard tell of this boat. Maybe not the most boxes ticked but several are.

Don't hate me but Back Cove is worth a look see. Seems to me downeast stye has to be on your radar. Deep V, pilot house, all weather, outboard potential, one primary berth, head room, easy boarding, just no galley...
