Hi , I am a new member and am currently refurbishing a Drettman Elegance 80 (Horizon) M/Y and wish to source a new high gloss wooden (teak?cherry wood?) aft deck table and chairs. Table needs to be approximately 2400mm (8ft) x 900mm (3ft) and 8 chairs to suit. I am based in Sydney , Australia , any suggestions of where to find anywhere (AUS,US,Taiwan..) would be trully appreciated.
    Thank You
    BG

    deck chairs and table

I will suggest to go for a custom made table, which will suit best to your aft deck. I have a high/low square table that folds open to form a 130 cm x 130 cm, which can be used as a coffe table at low position and can be converted to a dining table for 8 in open position. It also does not take much space in close position and the aft deck feels much larger. You will decide which fits best to your aft deck and your taste.

For chairs, I sugget to check Summit or Glouster, which are both very good quality.

    Hi,

I don't want to rain on your parade but a lot of the "high quality" woodwork seen on yachts today is not all that it seems, nearly all will be a veneer of some sort over either a ply or composite ( MDF Etc)underneath.

Surely you could get one of the many excellent cabinet makers in your backyard to make you one exactly as you want it,without the need to order by remote control.

Then there is of course all the customs hassle with wooden things from anywhere entering Australia that you may want to investigate prior to ordering something overseas.

I have a table on the aft deck of my boat that I had custom built by Scott Boyle in Stuart Florida. The wood matches my boat and the inlay matches my decor. Scott was great to work with, the quality could not be better, it was delivered on time and was properly crated and shipped directly to me with no damage. He has a web site that comes up in a Google search. Good luck.
