Last week I removed the 41 year old Nautolex. The deck below was in amazing condition. I had only 2 small areas of decay on the starboard side plywood deck. I removed the entire section, lots of screws. Now I will replace the piece with new plywood using the old as a template. All of the stringers are in like new condition. My question is this. What plywood did Chris Craft use in 1968? Was it just marine plywood or was it another wood. Mahogoney?
Now that I have a huge open section any suggestions as to preventative maintenance? I have already replaced the exhaust hoses.
    Thanks

    Greetings,
It is my understanding that CC used a mahogany marine ply. As for preventive maint`, would it be possible during your rebuild to affix the new decking in such a fashion as to allow you to easily remove it in case of future servicing. IE: build in some sort of hatch.

I would think that any marine rated plywood would work fine.
