Adding a Toerail

    I'm looking to restore a center console and am looking to add a teak toe rail. My plan is to have one CNC'ed out of Coosa, finish it, attach, and then have faux teaked. It's strictly ornamental and isn't structural. Who's finished Coosa, and what was involved? Not sure if fairing will be enough or if I have to glass first, then fair. And lastly, suggestions on attaching to the boat? Preference is to use thickened epoxy, but open to suggestions.

    I have replaced the weather boards on the sides and stern of my 53 Hatteras with Coosa. Got rid of all stanchions and epoxied the whole structure (panels, bases and columns every 4’) to the toe rail. Strong and rigid enough that I didn’t have to glass anything. Rolled a coat of epoxy on the coosa, then faired, primed and painted.

    Coosa is a bit rough as is with some pin holes so it needs the fairing. It epoxies very well to existing fiberglass
