We're leaving St. Maarten tomorrow for the Bay of Biscay, via Tenerife. Thanks to the marvels of modern technology, the Marine Traffic iPhone app will allow me to broadcast our position all the way across. Hi, Where in the BoB are you heading? I am sure with your time in the NE USA you are used to big tides and currents , but if you aren't at least be aware of them.
First port will be LaRochelle. After that, we're heading to St. Nazair and onward to the UK. After that up to the Baltic and then back to circumnavigate the UK.
Jeez Ken, do you know just how much foul-weather gear and heated drying cupboards your going to need? Summer is such fun over here. Are you headed to the Med afterwards?
Oh, and don't forget the 20% cheaper fuel and booze here in Guernsey. We ain't one of those Euro places as you pass.
Ken and Crew, Have a great and safe trip! Would love to make that run someday. post pics! La Rochelle is a great town, was last there for the 2002 Volvo Ocean Race.

Hello Ken Have a safe trip. Just to let you no I took a yacht up the canal yesterday and the owner has been using that app all the way from Florida. I tracked him all the way through the Erie Canal sysetm where ther are no AIS recievers. He said only one thing to remember was to turn app off when you take your car out. His family followed his trip north. Rodger
We're at it again After a great summer in Northern Europe we're on our way home. Nadine and her friends are forcing us south, so we're headed NW of Cape Verde Islands and then west toward Puerto Rico. RENA - Vessel's Details and Current Position - 1001489 - 538070323
Thanks Ken, Rena is a very beautiful lady, however I don't know quite what to say about her scurvy looking pirate crew!! Bon Voyage!
Weather Worn Thanks Disco. She is a rare beauty IMHO As for the crew- its easy to look scurvied when doing the sort of miles we put on; by next week we'll have done nearly 15,000nm in 2012! I'll ask the chef to ship some limes at our next port...
