She has been delivered two days ago, on 10th June! Wow nearly 10 months after her launch...that smells of a new record for A&R?! However I think she is a good looking vessel and I am happy to see her completed.

Well a few nice boats that we had been waiting on for a long time have been delivered recently, her and "ACE". Now, to wait on Project "Topaz". The new A&R is a looker overall. One or two design elements rubbing me the wrong way though.

As you more than likely know already the A&R "Excellence V" has a new central charter agency. Look out for this gorgeous new build in St. Barths, Caribbean for the coming winter season, Christmas and New Years.

Here she is with her friends in Nantucket over Labor Day. What is the round black thing on top of the burgee staff?

It is a anchor ball. That signaled other ships and boats that this yacht is at anchor. When the sun is down they need an anchor light.

You can call it an anchor ball but it is the anchor day shape and as said, the collapsible type but from distance it appears round like a black ball. Of course at night, you wouldn't be able to see it, so...they'd turn on the anchor lights, one atop the forward telescopic mast and the other lower on the aft of the yacht, and the anchor lights are all round lights.

    Hi,

Ron, you will find that whilst it is known as the Anchor Day Shape it will be almost universally referred to as an Anchor Ball.

The collapsible ones make for easier stowage than the hard plastic ones.

She is actually for sale asking 85 Million USD which seems a bit overpriced. As I said somewhere else before a 260ft successor is under construction.

And got a price reduction down to 75million.

I bet the actual selling price will still be below that. While she does have a lot of volume for her size increasing the overall cost, I think the new owner will want to do an interior refit as it’s not more of a timeless interior and looks a bit dated.

I just watched this video again... i'm still amazed how they manage to cram these yachts into such tight spaces. Good advertisement for the fender systems.
