If you are such a smart ass and so fluent in French, why didn't you post something for the majority of readers to understand instead of picking fault with someone who did?

I'm not sure if your problem is with Google or the English language but, in English we do not ascribe sex to each object and pronoun. They hit the rocks, as in she and her crew and passengers. I think I'll keep my translator as it seems to be working just fine. But thank you for the French lesson.

Nothing wrong with NYCAP´s translator. I can read French and can only find that seven of the ten onboard left "her" to another boat after they hit the rocks.

I must admit that I have never understood the Russian propensity for assigning masculine attributes to their vessels. To us (well, me at least) a vessel is always ‘she’ but to the Russians it is ‘he’. My view is, if we are to entrust both our enjoyment and our lives to boats, then we will build them with a passion that reflects our expectations of them – ergo, the masculine ‘embraces’ the feminine. If a vessel is seen as male, it can be little more than a ‘best mate’. But if it is female…

Well, I guess we will all have our own interpretations of what that means…
