On this September 11, 2010, many of us around the globe paused to reflect on the events of 9-11-2001. Many know of someone lost that day or whose life was impacted by the events. In some way, we were, and are all impacted. Since then, many brave men and women from armed services around the world have been fighting for our freedom. And just yesterday, I witnessed a group of young men who have committed a portion of their lives to ensure the freedom of the U.S. I am proud to say that I am the parent of a U.S. Marine. My son was one of the 500+ graduates from the U.S. Marine Recruit Depot in Parris Island, SC. But don't thank me. Thank my son. Thank any person in any uniform from the armed services for what they do. They allow us to have the freedom to do what we do. Here's a photo of the graduation ceremony as the platoons march across the parade deck. And it was hot out.
You must be very proud indeed. I thank both you and your son. You obviously gave very good values to your son. His choice gives me and my family the opportunity to be able to live our life in a way that so many take for granted. A very great price has been paid for our freedom and I am extremely grateful to those who stand up for the challenge around this world of ours. May GOD watch over and protect your son!
May God bless him and his unit. They are walking tall and standing proud. Never forget 9-11 and the sacrifices soldiers make to keep this country free. ......It does get a bit hot in Beaufort this time of year.
