    Hi,
Does it have a lower station?
Do you need the front windows in the cabin?
Filling them in makes the boat look much newer and will solve the leaking proble for good.
Softness around the hatches is another matter.....

How good a glasser are you? If you feel soft spots count on the damage going much, much further. The best tip I can give you is to get a good pair of running shoes; then put them to work. DK what kind of boat you're talking about, but I'm guessing balsa core. You could well be talking about replacing everything from the bulkhead up. Some boats aren't worth taking for free and the little you've said indicates this may be one.

Don't become dismayed. Older Posts always need some sort of work, so it depends how the pricing is for you, and whether you can do a lot of the work yourself. Post's are great boats! The '79 hull configuration can be a little wet, so be sure you sea trial in a wind and head sea. Check the deck and bulkhead and hull with a moisture meter to see the extent of the water intrusion. All the "wet" areas should be dried and repaired. The extent of that work should help you judge the pricing and if you want the "project".
