    Help!
One of my 283's spun 2 rod bearings which looks like for the second time basesd on the 2 cylinder sleeves. My question is has anyone mated up the chris craft mounts engine, paragon transmission, oil pan, etc. to a more modern small block 305, 350 etc that has a stronger lower end and will the paragon trans take the extra power?

    Thanks roamer001 027.jpg

    283's

    Hello
I have replaced 283's with 350's and used all the original accessories with good sucess. There are several fairly easy but very necessary modifications that need to be done to some of the parts to make the conversion work reliably. When you are done the engine will look like a vintage engine but have much newer innards. Do you have a manual trans or hydraulic? Are your manifolds and carbs, pumps, distributors, starters, etc. in good shape? Any salt water use on the engines? Now is the time to replace any other parts that are suspect but make sure it is in the budget as you can't stop once you start! I know a good source for just about any part you might need to complete the project. Let me know if you want more info.
