600hp MTU diesel

    Is there anyone out there that can give me a rough estimate of how many gallons per hour a 600 hp MTU diesel burns. Let’s say she runs at 10 kn. Sorry I do not have any other details yet. Thank you very much.

    20 gph. Question is too vague, what rpms/load is it running at?

    Trouble is, 10kt could mean either running at 1000rpm and very low load on a planing boat, or WOT on a large and heavy trawler, with anything in between. So, the answer to your question is somewhere from 5 to 30+ gph, I'm afraid.

    Thank you for the response. The MTU engines, two of them, will be pushing a Malcolm Tennant designed 73 foot power cat. I was thinking anywhere, but between 1200 and 1400 RPM.
