We have an offer in process on a 1988 44' Ocean. Does anyone have a drawing showing all the thru hull locations. Having full surveys done but would like to know in advance where all the thru hulls and shutoffs are. My 35 Viking owners manual has a nice drawing, hoping the 44 Ocean does to and someone can post a copy.

    Thanks - Greg

They're not hidden and in fact should be quite obvious and near what they serve. 1 each for the 2 mains, the gen, a/c's, saltwater washdown if so equipped. Of course make sure that you (along with the surveyor) close and open each seacock to check their operation.

Agree with the more obvious, but the esoteric ones: where is the salt water washdown intake? Head flush water intake? Head direct overboard exit? Macerator overboard exit?

I found the head flush units (Galley Maid) under the sole in the hall but didn't see any of the other head thru hulls I would expect. I can only see one above water outlet thru hull on the stbd side. Didn't see genset exhaust outlet, sink drain, AC cooling water outlets, AC condensate overboard drains.

Just looking over pics of a 1988 Ocean 44, and it looks like there is just one discharge for all sinks, showers, a/c's, etc.. The overboard discharge for the holding tank is probably on the bottom controlled by a Y valve near the holding tank. Your gen probably discharges exhaust and cooling water through one of the main's exhaust, and your a/c's condensate probably drains into the bilge.

That would be different. I can see combining the sinks and sower sumps, but I don't see outlets for the 3 bilge pumps in my photos either. Hopefully some one owns one can provide more insight.

It's difficult to find a pic that shows it clearly but I believe I see 2 bilge pump outlets on the starboard side near the transom.

Hi Greg, we used to own a 1988 ocean 38. with regards to the overboard discharges above the waterline. the galley sink, and the bilge pumps ran into one common pipe which discharged on the port side of the transom. The Ac cooling water outlet was plumbed into the engine exhaust, and the gen exhaust had its own outlet on the stbd side of the transom. the two transom outlets were just below the swim platform and may be hard to see. The Ac condensate lines went into the shower sump in the fwd bilge

Thanks. There are two small outlets below the cockpit scuppers, but I haven't been under the cockpit floor to see what they went to.
