I am new to this forum, I am rebuilding a 1960 35' Roamer. I am
redoing both 430 engines and need a set of push rods (at least 4)
They are a ball on one end and a cup on the other.

    Greatly appreciate any leads.

I am located just out of Duluth Mn at Knife River and am looking forward
to getting the old girl out on Lake Superior

Thanks K1W1 I gave them a call, and all they have is for auto.
They said that the auto version would not work on a marine engine.

    Hi,

Is that because your marine engine has solid lifters vs the hydraulic ones in an auto engine?

Before I became a Marine Engineer I did my Apprenticeship as a Diesel Mechanic.

We had to fix a lot of stuff in the bush a long way from parts.

IMO, Push rods are not that difficult to make if you are really stuck for a few and can find ones with the right cup and ball, shorten them leaving a pin one one end and a hole in the other one to receive it and keep the whole lot straight and then silver solder a close fitting sleeve over the joint.

you are correct in it being a solid lifter cam shaft.
It seems to me back in my youth and racing and such I did
make some push rods. That for sure is an option. I am sure that
at the RPM these engines turn a little wieght differance will not
    matter.

guys thanks much. I can't believe I didn't think of that. Old age must
be setting in, but then again I guess it was over 40 yrs ago.

Thanks again for my perfect first experience with your group.

p.s. a side note when complete this Roamer is going to be my support
    craft for a personal submersible. A little 1 or 2 person 1atmosphere
350 ft working depth. Been about 3 yrs in the building should be working
    this year.

Did someone say "Pushrod's?" I have what You need, as well as a fresh pair of 430 heads. P.M. if interested. What is the matter with Your pushrods? I'm in Wisconsin.

    Hi Kiwi

yup I have 4 bent push rods. You are just a little late with the heads
I had one of those cracked. sent for another and it got here cracked.
Sent for the second one and it was good. They are all nice and fresh
    now.

For sure I would like to buy the pushrods.

I am close to Duluth Mn
