43 Post rudder

    For future archiving the critical dimensions for the 43 Post rudder are:

    Hydrasearch (Buck Algonquin) 10R40SS1.5 Spade Rudder
    Final shaft length 14"
    Keyway 3/8" x 3-5/8" from top of shaft (end of ramp-out)

    The shaft should not bend at the top of the rudder :)

    That's the super custom shaft.
    Pre bent to show off, for that serious charter fisherman.

    Yea, Yea, There i was in a typhoon,, backing down on this great white,, and he drug the boat backwards over a reef..

    It was bent before we got the boat. I checked for damage to the leading and trailing edges, but admit I did not pick up the bend (no one at the haulout did). I have no idea how you bend that shaft without any damage to the stuffing box or hull but they managed to.
