    Hi All,

We are the proud new owners of a 2004 420 Carver Mariner. We've replaced quite a few things (including an engine), but are left with 3 perplexing issues:

    1. As you enter the salon, there are a pair of light switches directly on your left. One operates the cabin lights. The other has a green indicator light above it and we can't for the life of us figure out what it does.
    2. We can't get cable to the flip TV in the forward birth. So frustrating.
    3. The fan in the bathroom never worked. Can't figure out where the motor is.

Thanks, ahead of time, for those of you that take the time to help out!

    Pete

    Welcome to YF BigPete.

    1) this will require searching. My first guess would be to some outside light or electrical outlet, possibly an outside icemaker.
    2) Are you saying that you can't run a cable or that the signal isn't getting there? If the second, it's pretty straight forward. It's connected at both ends or it's not, the splitter is good or NG, same for the TV. Try a new splitter and try connecting that TV to the salon.
    3) The fan is probably a single unit, vent/fan & motor. At worst it's a fan & motor somewhere between the inside & outside vents. I'm sure you'll find that a very small area to search.

The green light is a pilot light indicating the bilge lights are on.

That would be a tough one to figure out.

agree with green light indicating the bilge light are on in my carver 405 thats exactly how its set up

cable tv to fwd berth i bet its possible to get there somehow may be very hard but if you dont want or cant have you thought of a wireless transmitter? heres what i'm talking about or something similiar
AITech Wireless Cable TV -- No Wires, No Extra Boxes, No Extra Fees!

bathroom fan sorry but 12v breaker is on in the power panel correct? next in the head if its similiar to mine using a rocker switch i would pull the switch out and verify that one of the wire connections havent come loose and that the switch isnt bad or that you can verify that there is 12v measured between one of the wires and a ground to rule that out. if its good then is there any panels in the head to unscrew and remove? mostly likely the fan is not going to be too far away. where is the exhaust fan outlet located on the outside of the boat? probably a round plastic vent with slats. is it near apx the location of the head? maybe able to get an idea of the run and to go back in the boat and see if its in a closet or panel that you havent thought of just a couple thoughts
