Anyone out there with a 38? I just bought mine a month ago. Love the boat and have many questions.

    Thanks

    Mark,
Welcome to the Forum. And congrats on the new boat.
Let's see, Viking put that vessel out in the early '90's I think, most with Detroit engines (although I have seen some with J&T power plants). Give us some more info on it and include a few photos so we can add our colorful commentary. I have never owned a Viking, but when I have the dough for a new boat, that's the one I'll be looking at.
Now that the fall is here, are you planning on storing it on land, or brining it south, where you can boat and fish all winter long? Used to be from LI, and have a few friends up in Glen Cove still (was over at Brewer's a few months ago working on a client's yacht).
Good luck with the new ride.

Thanks for the reply. It is a 1990 with Detroit 6-71 TIs. The boat is pretty solid with mostly cosmetic things that need doing to bring into A1 condition. What seems unusual is that it has a tendency to lean forward. With the fuel tank aft, this is even more pronounced.

Lean forward? Do you have a stuck trim tab, or some extra weight in the fore section? Is the forward part of the boot stripe under water? Where's the water tank? Have you checked to see if an extra tank was installed in the forward bilge.
    Hmmm....
