A question/suggestion. Are you on a pc? If so you should get yourself IrfanView which is free. You resize your images to make them small enough to post here, and that is responsible for the graininess and stripe like nature of the diagonal lines. Since you are dealing with Jpegs which use vectors you can do something called resampling, where your computer draws the same vectors in to a smaller space, it takes a bit longer but you avoid those artifacts, and with Irfanview you can set up a batch transform, where you tell your computer to change all of the files and then walk off and make your self a drink and it does all the work one file after another. If not on a PC disregard this, I don't know how to do it on a mac or linux.
