My wife and recently took possesion of our 1988 Carver, we started the purchase process last fall. It's been a long winter. The surveyer said she was in very good shape for her age, One thing we noticed she is missing an exhaust flapper. The flappers I have found all have a hose clamp, that would clamp around a protruding exhaust pipe. I need one that has a pin that goes through like a hinge on a flush exhaust pipe. Any Ideas?
A picture would definitely help, but are one of these similar to what you're looking for? Sounds like an internal water inversion preventer. I had those on my Baja's with thru hull exhaust and angle tips.
I am in search of an exhaust flapper like the one you mention and have had no luck at all.... I will try to remember to post a pic when I get home.
