It seems like the door lock mechanism is working but the hook on the door when it slides into the plate doesn't have enough length to keep door locked? Any ideas or previous problems with the locking mechanism on the cabin salon door. Also anyone know where I can obtain an owners manual and wiring diagram for the same boat?

I can't help with the wiring diagram. On the door latch, if its like my former (1981 42') Post, check the adjustment on the door rollers at the top of the door. It may be riding too high which prevents the latch from getting a good hold on the keeper.

Did you recently change the rollers on the door? Or are the rollers going bad? It's possible the hook or striker plate or both are worn. You could try locating a new one, or try moving the striker plate up a little bit.

Agreed, check if the latch is worn. Post is back in business. Maybe they can help you with a manual? Great boat you have.

Beau, and everyone else who responded I appreciate the help. I just bought the boat yesterday and have a few minor things I need to take care of. Beau I am in Huntington Harbor, so we are close, maybe I will see you out and about someday.

Beau, I do know Howard as we were in the same line of work, although he is retired now. I was with him last week telling him about the boat I was buying. I am at a small docking complex near the Huntington Bay Yacht club. Small world. I didn't know there are any 50's in our area.

Yeah they hate my wakes even though I go out on one engine. Even tried putting my tabs all the way down. I may have to drag something. Been there 12 years,so I get some hello waves back.... I love the 46s. I think they are one of the hushiest boat profiles out there.

Well I got over to the boat around 630am and pulled the wood trim off of the sliding door, and a 30second adjustment on the rollers and my lock is working perfectly. Thanks for the help guys.
