Well, after nearly 8 months of working on on this, I'm finally close to being finished. I found this Chris Craft 22 Tournament Fisherman in Louisiana and brought her to Lake Murray in South Carolina to begin the work. The prior owner had done a ton of structural work including new stringers, new floor and new engine and I'm glad that I didn't have to tackle those jobs but felt like I had something that I could take to the next level. I decided to take her back to the classic and subtle color scheme that I've always loved. Here are a few pics of where I started and where I ended. I still have some small things to do, but she's on the water, dragging baits and I'm certainly enjoying her.
nice work on Chris Craft...saw the video on youtube and it really looks sharp in the water. Do you happen to know what size prop you are running to get it to 42 mph?
I'll have to look at the prop. I do know that I went from the original 3 blade to a 4 blade Acme Prop from Johnson Propeller and it was a day and night difference. I'll take a look at the prop size this weekend.
Hi Lee, Your Dory looks great! I've had two, both 1974's. I sold the first one a few years ago and now have another with a 320hp Crusader. I have the old standard three blade prop and it's ok. What is your 4 blade size ? What HP is your motor and your top RPM and speed?
